The vocals are straight up furious; the frontman delivers both hoarse growls and deep grunts in a rapid stuttering style, interspersing it all with raspy vocals to suit the constantly shifting moods of the album. The music has an inherent momentum, oscillating violently between the sped up technical parts and progressive passages providing brief respite, and spicing things up with brutal death metal bits along the way. It's not just fast tech death; it's full-bodied intricate death metal, carefully and thoughtfully composed, and flawlessly executed. 'Painted Paradise' is an album that's also remarkably catchy and even memorable despite the ever-intensifying chaos. There are parts that will stand out from the cascade of riffs in every song and will have the listener delightfully coming back for more.
